Departure by 4x4 through the Grand Sud gate for Agdz, crossing the lunar landscapes of the Anti-Atlas mountains. You visit the impressive Kasbah of Tamnougalte, a former caravan stopover. Then, along the Draa valley and its palm grove, you arrive in Zagora then M'Hamid where the road stops. Here you are at the gates of the desert. A camel ride will allow you to admire the sunset before having dinner and spending the night in a nomad tent at the foot of the dunes of Erg Lihoudi.
The next day, after enjoying the desert, you take the road to the charming village of Tamgroute to discover its zaouia, its Koranic library and its traditional pottery workshops. A stop is required in Zagora, the city of the famous “Tomboucton 40 days” sign. Return to Ouarzazate via Agdz and its typical market.
